Coconut Palm (Cocos Nucifera)

Description:
40 to 60 ft. 25 fronds each about 15 ft. long with a full fibrous stem. Its texture is coarse to medium. Its fruit is the coconut. Its leaves are dark to yellow-green with a pointed tip that curves gracefully. Sometimes called the pigmy coconut.

Location:
South Florida and Western Pacific.

Culture:
Full sun, moisture with moderate drainage. Fertilizing helps rapid growth but should be used in Spring only.

Palm Trees

Palm trees grow in places that are warm and have a lot of sunshine. They are medium-sized trees that grow in coastal regions. Palm trees often grow close to water.
