Marine Medical Unit was founded in 1977 for the sole purpose of providing "Onboard" medical services to ships calling the Mississippi River and nearby maritime destinations. An innovative, positive approach to services led to continued growth, which in turn led to the opening of a full service medical clinic. Eventually we added a five-bed infirmary, which required 24-hours a day staffing.             In 1985 we decided to utilize what we already had in place and went out seeking other companies that were not just 9 to 5 businesses. We are the only 24 hours a day, seven days a week Occupational Medical Clinic in the New Orleans area. Our staff is trained to expedite each patient's care so that he can, if possible, return to work often within minutes. Our computerized "Account Procedures Manual" gives our customers the right to specify exactly how they want us to handle their employees' healthcare.
